Before it was the Bank of Ocean City, the building was Lot 48, a plat on the northeast corner of Dorchester Street and Baltimore Ave.
From 1875 through 1910, the lot remained vacant until a young entrepreneur from Berlin, Charlie McGregor, finally developed the property and built a grocery store. In 1913, he sold the property to five local businessmen interested in opening a bank. The Bank of Ocean City opened its doors for business on January 3, 1916, and remained in operation for 103 years.
With your support, the Museum Society can make this building an active and engaging space, contributing to the revitalization of downtown Ocean City.
